Tech-Knowledge Roadmap...
It can be quite frustrating trying to navigate through the information superhighway trying to find more information about a certain type of technology that we may be interested in, and this is not made any easier by the amount of websites claiming to offer this information. I would like to offer my own personal take on a few of these websites and you are then welcome to judge for yourself.
The first website that comes to mind is MakeUseOf . This is one of the many websites that I turn to when I get asked a question to which I already do not know the answer. As you might see, its lists a comprehensive database of Guides, Tips and Manuals for different aspects of technology; everything from operating systems to mobile phone software to successfully navigating social media websites (Facebook, Twitter,...).
Secondly, WikiPedia . I use this with a hint of caution. A lot of the time, this famous encyclopaedic website is edited by average people with an above-average knowledge or special interest in the field or topic of discussion. NOT all the information contained on Wikipedia is 100% reliable, but a LOT of it is. Just use the site with that in mind and you should be fine.
For my last suggestion of this session, I would like to turn your attention to one of the more popular search engines, as they are known, Google . When asking your tech savvy friend for help with your computer, 5 out of 10 times they are going to go to Google and type in exactly what you ask them; for example, "Why can't my computer connect to (name: Netgear, Zyxel, etc.) wireless router" and then proceed to spend a half an hour reading their way to the solution, if it can be found. One often hears the expression "Google is your friend"; well it is and I heartily encourage you to use it and your pleasure. Remember, you do not have to type in a request in any specific jargon or way, just type in your search as you would say it when speaking to the guy on the phone from tech support.
Well that's all for this time. Thanks for reading and I hope you can use some of what you have read. As always you can drop me an email at: michael.schumer@gmail.com and I will be happy to assist you in anyway I can.

The First of Many...
I couldn't wait any longer so I thought I would throw this link up here: http://www.makeuseof.com/ .....
That link has saved many a confused person, myself included... I won't go into too much detail; the website is pretty good at explaining itself. They also have a good collection of guides ranging from Firefox and Chrome to Photoshop and Office.
As usual, I am available on this blog to answer any questions you might have.
Think of me as the middle-man that EXPLAINS (something missing from a lot of tech websites) the current technology so that "non-tech" people can understand it. And if there is something I cannot answer, I will do my damndest to find out for you... it's part of my ongoing quest to live in a world where EVERYONE gets a chance to in some way, shape or form, experience technology... :-)

Introduction...
Hi there... My name is Michael and I would like to talk to you about the internet and all the surrounding technologies that many of us are faced with on a daily basis... I have been interested in all forms of technology since... well for a very long time and the latest addition to my arsenal of knowledge is an AP Diploma in IT and Networking Technology. Now while there may be more "tech-savvy" (a person who lives, breathes and dies for technology) people out there who may or may not agree with me from time to time, this is not for them. Rather, the person/people I hope to reach are those that, and I myself was one at one stage as we all were in some respect, find it hard to understand a new technology when it is thrust upon the consumer. This person/these people may include, but are not limited to, family and close friends (NOT gender specific).
That was my short introduction and I should start writing about something soon...
Be well on the InterWebs (tech slang for the Internet) and don't panic; it's really not that bad...
